❓ Schools & Organizations FAQ

The questions schools, nonprofits, and community groups usually ask us before booking — answered up front.

The Basics
Is this actually free?
Yes — no fee, no fundraiser pitch, no sign-up required afterward. Digital Safety Knights is a free nonprofit; see our real numbers for exactly what that means in practice.
Who actually presents the session?
Sessions are led by our team — most often Ayşe Saklı, our Club Leader & Co-Founder, who also develops much of our video content. See our full team page for who's who.
Do you only work with schools?
No — we present to schools, nonprofits, charities, libraries, faith groups, and any community organization serving kids, teens, or families. See our programs page for the full picture.
Format & Logistics
In-person or virtual — which do you offer?
Both. In-person sessions currently cover NJ and surrounding states (NY, PA, CT & DE). Virtual sessions are available anywhere with a video call. If a live session isn't a fit at all, we can also just send your organization our guides and materials directly.
How long is a typical session?
Most sessions run about 45–60 minutes, adjustable to fit a class period, an assembly slot, or a parent-night format. Let us know your time constraints when you request a session and we'll work around them.
What equipment do we need to provide?
A projector or screen with sound is ideal, since a few segments use short video clips — but we can adapt if that's not available. For virtual sessions, a standard video-call setup (laptop, projector, or smart board) works fine.
How far in advance should we book?
A few weeks' notice gives us the most flexibility, but reach out even if your timeline is tight — we'll always try to make it work. Request a session here.
Is there a minimum or maximum group size?
No fixed limits — we've adapted the same core content for a single classroom and for a full-grade assembly. Tell us your expected audience size and we'll tailor the format to fit.
Content & Safety
What topics do you actually cover?
Roblox & gaming safety, AI chatbot awareness, grooming warning signs, deepfakes and the laws now protecting kids from them, parental controls, and digital citizenship — always age-adapted to the audience. See the full breakdown on our programs page.
Is the content age-appropriate for younger kids?
Yes — content is adapted by age group. For a wide grade range (like K-5), we'll usually ask whether you'd prefer one combined session or separate sessions split by grade band, since tone and depth shift a lot across that range.
Do you collect any data from students?
No. Sessions don't collect any student names, emails, or personal information. If students want to explore our free online tools afterward, those already run on a nickname-only, no-personal-data model.
Do you have background checks or a safeguarding policy?
We're glad to complete whatever visitor, background-check, or safeguarding requirements your school or organization already has in place for outside presenters — just let us know your process when you request a session.
Something Else?
My question isn't answered here.
No problem — reach out through our contact form, or request a session directly on our programs page and add your question there.
